About me

I began my thatching apprenticeship in 2006 and currently have 15 years experience in all aspects of thatching work.

I studied at Bournemouth University, completing a BSc Degree in Heritage Conservation.

My interests were particularly in Vernacular Architecture - an architectural style and design based on local needs, availability of construction materials, reflecting local traditions - evidence of which can be seen within the countryside of Devon and Cornwall today.

I gained a CITB Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations (Construction) – Thatching, awarded by the National Society of Master Thatchers Association after finishing my traditional apprenticeship.

In 2021 I became a member of the Devon and Cornwall Master Thatchers Association. I am now based in South Devon offering a professional, friendly and reliable service.
